From the Heart of Taranaki comes Courtnay & The Unholy Reverie. Fuelled by a shared love for the blues, Courtnay and the Unholy Reverie features the masterful talents of: Chad Williams; Keith Parker; Courtnay Low; Anna Brooks and Tim Lloyd. This ‘Thiolised’ Hazy IPA uses tropical hops and Phantasm powder for that extra juicy kick.

THIOLS

Thiols are a highly aroma-active compound which can be derived from hops that have the potential to give very intense fruity flavours to dry-hopped beers. The occurrence of thiols in hops was only discovered a couple of years ago and the use of it in beer is still being developed. We use a NZ made product called Phantasm, which is derived from Sauvignon Blanc skins. Phantasm contains Thiol precursors, which when added correctly to a fermenting beer, can unlock rich, strong tropical fruit aromas.
