The 5% Project
At Shining Peak we’re strong believers that every business should have a social mission at its core. Our mission is for our beer to make the world a better place.
Every month 5% of our beer revenues from our venues, are donated to a different local Taranaki organisation. Not profits…… revenues, that’s approximately 30 to 50% of our venue’s profit – we give away to local organisations each and every month. No terms and conditions, no small print – we just put the money straight into the back pockets of important local organisations and charities here in Taranaki.

Waitara & Districts Community Childcare Centre Inc.
We are a Community Based Early Childhood Centre and run by a voluntary Management Committee.
Our philosophy and Vision encompass all of the values and beliefs of how we believe is the best way to educate and care for Tamariki.
We provide care and education for mixed age Tamariki. The Waitara & Districts Community Childcare Centre is a Community Based
Centre that provides care and education for Tamariki 3 months to 5 years.
The centre has been operating since 1980. We are licensed for 40 mixed age Tamariki, with up to 12 under 2’s. We believe that it takes a strong knowledgeable Kaiako team that understands and can educate our unique individual Tamariki that we have in the centre.
We believe in strong relationships within the team, management, whānau, with Tamariki and for Tamariki with others. We want to ensure that the centre is growing and meeting the learning outcomes for all Tamariki in our community.
We have process in place to ensure that this happens, and we offer a Tamaiti initiated approach to learning, where the importance of play for learning is respected and valued.
We are very grateful and excited to be part of the Shining Peak 5% Project for
October, and we will be using the funds to update equipment in all areas
throughout the centre for our Tamari.
