At Shining Peak, we’re strong believers that every business should have a social mission at its core. Our mission is for our beer to make the world a better place.

Every month 5% of our beer revenues from our venues, are donated to a different New Zealand organisation. Not profits…… revenues, that’s approximately 30 to 50% of our venues profit – we give away to local organisations each and every month. No terms and conditions, no small print – we just put the money straight into the back pockets of important local organisations and charities across New Zealand.

Drink Beer, Do Good.

This month in Taranaki

Taranaki Coastguard is a community based organisation that has been providing a Marine Search and Rescue service in Taranaki for over 50 years. Our Mission is Saving Lives at Sea.

The unit functions by responding to emergencies in support of the Police and the Rescue Coordination Centre NZ and Coastguard NZ.  The local radio operators also monitor the local maritime radio channel and other radio frequencies to provide a safety watch for local boaties.

Based in Port Taranaki our unit is staffed by volunteers who give up their time to train weekly and are ready to their work and families to provide a marine rescue service 24/7.

We have 16 shore based radio operators who provide the vital link between boaties and the emergency services and we have 22 trained crew for our rescue vessel.

Our dedicated rescue vessel Tood Energy Rescue has been specially designed and equipped to meet the demands of seas around Taranaki.  We train and prepare weekly, for every scenario and weather conditions we can expect to see around our coast.

The funds will go towards the running costs of unit and making sure our crew are ready when the call comes for help.  This includes fuel, repairs and maintenance for Todd Energy Rescue and essential supplies to keep our crew safe.

This month in Christchurch

We're on the hunt for our first 5% Project recipient in the South Island. That's right – 5% of our beer revenues from Sumner Post Office will go directly to a worthy cause. If you’re part of, or know of, an incredible initiative that could use our support, we’d love to hear from you. Drop us an email to beer@shiningpeakbrewing.com and let’s make the world a better place, one jug at a time.
