At Shining Peak we’re strong believers that every business should have a social mission at its core. Our mission is for our beer to make the world a better place.

Every month 5% of our beer revenues from our venues, are donated to a different local Taranaki organisation. Not profits…… revenues, that’s approximately 30 to 50% of our venue’s profit – we give away to local organisations each and every month. No terms and conditions, no small print – we just put the money straight into the back pockets of important local organisations and charities here in Taranaki.

Drink Beer, Do Good.

At Marfell Community School, we believe in giving our students fantastic opportunities to learn, grow and be involved in experiences that will stay with them for the rest of their lives. Due to this philosophy, we are endeavouring to take 30+ students to Waitangi for our annual school camp. The camp will be occurring in term 4 from Sunday the 24th of October to Saturday the 30th of October.

We will connect with Te Tiriti O Waitangi (The Treaty of Waitangi), bond with each other, stay in Auckland, sleep at a marae in Whangerei, connect with other schools and grow as a whanau together. Other activities will involve staying at an outdoor adventure camp, ice skating, and group activities. This will be an amazing experience that will communicate to our tamariki that they are important, significant members that can receive awesome opportunities if they work hard for them.

Like every good thing this camp comes at a cost. The total costs of accommodation, transportation, food, activities etc comes to around $16,000.00. We have parents committing to a payment plan that covers about a third of that cost. The rest we are raising through fundraisers like raffles, garage sales etc. Our students are also looking to whanau for sponsors to help them make it to camp and are helping to organise events as well. You can look on our Marfell Community School website for more information about the camp, costs and fundraising.

We still need a substantial amount of money to make sure this happens. The support from Shining Peak would go a long way to making sure we make camp happen. We would be honored and blessed to receive any donations that come our way.
